Shenyang Qipanshan International Scenery and Tourism Development Zone

Shenyang Qipanshan International Scenery and tourism Development Zone is a unique multi­functional tourism resort in Shenyang, with natu­ral and humane landscape, culture and enter­tainment, and trade activities all being integrated together. It is one of those tourism resorts ap­proved by government, the administration and service quality of which have achieved national AAAA standard.

Shenyang Qipanshan International Scenery and Tourism Development Zone is located in the northeast part of Shenyang, 17 kilometers away from city proper. With sufficient transportation facilities of Shenyang, it connects closely with the middle city group of Liaoning. The Zone covers a programmed area of 203 square kilo­meters including a tourist pilot town of 61 square kilometers and a scenic spot area of 142 square kilometers with distinct function areas as follows: a natural reserve habitat for animals and plants in the south and the north, an excursion center, a dynamic amusement park, a static excursion section, a hunting section and a camping villa section. The forest in the scenic spot area cov­ers 76 square kilometers, with a water-field 5.04 square kilometers.

After years of development and construction, the Zone began to take shape. Now the accu­mulated construction projects introduced to the Zone amount to 26, and the contracted invest­ment reaches 1.66 billion RMB, among which 19 projects are put into operation, 3 projects are under construction and 4 projects are in the construction preparation stage. An accumulated investment of 100 million RMB has been made in the construction of infrastructure facilities and public utility services in the Zone. There is a 28 kilometers tourist highway surrounding the lake. Sixteen water supply and drainage pipelines with an extension length of over 10,000 meters have been completed, which can supply 4,000 tons of water per day. 10 Km electric cables are also installed. A post office building with an con­struction area of 1,300 square meters and tele­communication building with an construction area of 3,700 square meters are recently set up. The designing capacity of telephone instal­lation is 20,000 sets, and 2,000 program-con­trolled telephones are in use now. The infrastructure facilities and public utility ser­vices are being improved in the Zone in order to meet requirements from different investors. During the Tenth Five-year Plan period, the ad­ministration of the Zone is planning to build Qipanshan into a modern and multi-functional international tourist resort with the four functions of traveling, sports, amusement and eco-sightseeing.
