Shenyang Imperial Palace

Shenyang Imperial Palace, located in the cen­ter of ancient Shenyang city, was established when Nurhachi (Nuerhachi) was in power in 1625 (the former of Qing Dyansty) and was com­pleted in 1636 by his son, Huangtaiji. Shenyang Imperial Palace is the oldest palace construction groups of Qing Dyansy in China, and plays a great role in preserving the history and art of Chinese Imperial culture. It has ap­plied to be listed as one of World's Cultural heritags.

 

Fu Ling (Dong Ling)

(Fu Mausoleum ) (Eastern Mausoleum) ( Fu Tomb)

Located 11 kilometers in the northeast suburb of Shenyang, the Eastern Mausoleum, also known as the Fu Mausoleum, is the Mausoleum of Qingtaizu Nuerhachi, the first emperor of Qing dynasty, and the empress Yehenala. It was built in 1629 and completed in 1651. The Mauso­leum, covering an area of 19.48 square kelometers, perches solemnly on the Tianzhu hill overlooking the Hun River and has impres­sive palaces and many pine trees. Its architec­ture style is distinctive for the Qing Dynasty mausoleums. It applied to be listed as one of World's Cultural heritages.

 

Beiling/Zhao Mausoleum North tomb

Zhao Mausoleum is located in the northern part of Shenyang and is the tomb of Qingtaizong Huangtaiji, the second emperor of Qing Dynasty, and the queen Xiaoduanwen Boerjijite. It was constructed in 1643 and finished in 1651. After liberation, it was enlarged to be known as Beiling Park and many pavilions and a man-made lake were constructed inside. On the southwest of Beiling Park, there is Fangxiu Garden, on the southeast side there are South Lake and Qingnian Lake, and on the north shady trees and colorful flowers add much beauty to the landscape. Beiling Park is the largest in Shenyang city. It applied to be listed as one of World's Cultural heritages.

 

Xinle Relics

The Xinle Relics are located to the west of Beiling Park. It was believed that there had been a matriarchal community during the Stone Age 7200 years ago. The ruins are of great value to study the development of Stone Age, the art history, the architecture history, the use and de­velopment of coal and the origin of agriculture.

 

Liaoning TV Tower

Located along the bank of the beautiful South Canal, Liaoning TV Tower was completed in 1980, 305.3 meters high. It is a combination of modern multi-functional TV and broadcasting tower launching TV and broadcasting signals, and a tourism, catering service and recreation center, and it is also the tallest building in North­east China. Ascending the tower and gazing far, the beauty of Beiling Park, the golden Imperial Palace, the rippled Hunhe, row upon row of spacious mansions and new buildings and boundless fertile land.

 

Residence of Zhangs Zhang Xueliang's masion

Residence of Zhangs, located to the south of Shenyang Imperial Palace, is the official and private residence of the warlord Marshal Zhang Zuolin and his son, the famous patriot general Zhang Xueliang.

The residence is covered with shady trees, where large and small building groups spread. Six buildings, constructed after liberation, make a pleasing scene with the old classic elegance and magnificence.

 

"9.18" Historic Museum

The Japanese created the September 18th In­cident in 1931, perpetrating crimes against China. The Museum was built to remind the public of this segment of history, which is lo­cated in northeastern part of Shenyang, on the northwest of Liutiaohu overpass, standing by Changda railroad. The Monument is made with bricks and cement, and has the incident and the date of September 18,1931 inscript on the front side. Nearby the museum, there is a Bomb Monument which was built by the Japanese im­perialists in 1938 to show off the "9.18" Incident, which happened along the "Nanman Railroad" near Liutiaohu and shocked the whole world.

 

Zhongjie Commercial Street

Zhongjie Commercial Street, including com­merce, trade, catering service, recreation and tourism, has a long history in Shenyang. Re­cently, Shenyang government invested a huge amount of money to reconstructe it comprehen­sively. The green lawn, the fountains and sculp­tures make the street attractive during the day , while the neon lights give it a lively atmosphere in the evening.

 

Hunhe Amusement Park

It is a typical achievement as a result of recon­struction of Hunhe River in recent years. With the unique folkways and diversity of recreation facilities, it becomes the highlight of tourism in Shenyang and known as the "bright peal of Shenyang".

 

The Summer Palace

The Summer Palace, the largest indoor water recreation world in China at present, takes the landscape in the south of China and a totally new living concept to the north of China. It is very popular among people in Shenyang and people in the cities nearby as well.

 

Shenyang Strange Slope

Located on the western side of Maoshan Moun­tain, the strange slope faces a sweep of fields and has hills on the back. Actually, it is a section of slope that declines from west to east, some 80 meters long and 15 meters wide. What is strange is that all kinds of power-driven ve­hicles have to rely on power to go down the slope, but will slide upward without relying on any power. There are many stories and folk leg­ends about the slope which makes it more in­triguing. Ever since it is discovered, it has at­tracted lots of tourists home and abroad.

 

Shenyang West Lake

Located at Qiandangpu town in Xinmin city, it is a wonderful tourism retort for traveling, vaca­tion, holidays, amusement and sports. It is known as "one of the nice views in the world", where the lake is clean, the reed is boundless, the landscape is beautiful and the nature and man-made sights contrast pleasingly with each other.

 

XinKaihe River

Xinkaihe River, also called the north canal, is another scenic spot, which involves shady trees, new gardens, new landscape along the bank of the canal. With clean water, beautiful gardens and the shady trees, it have become a long cul­tural corridor of city.
